KLIO Award goes to Magdalena Stopa We are thrilled to announce that the biography entitled “Julian Kulski. Prezydent okupowanej walczącej Warszawy” (Julian Kulski. Mayor of the occupied fighting Warsaw) by Magdalena Stopa received the prestigious KLIO Award.

Each year, Porozumienie Wydawców Książek Historycznych (Association of History Books’ Publishers) awards Polish authors for their contribution to the promotion of history and recognises publishers of history books by presenting them with the KLIO award. This year, the accolade in the “Varsaviana” category was granted to the renowned author Magdalena Stopa for her book about Julian Spitosław Kulski. The award was presented at the opening gala of the 26th History Book Fair at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.

“I care very deeply about promotion of history, especially through books. Soon, we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence. The nationwide celebrations of this great jubilee will serve as an opportunity to commemorate prominent figures, communities and organisations to whom we owe our freedom and who made a contribution to the establishment of an independent Poland,” Polish President Andrzej Duda wrote in his address to participants of the fair.

We would like to congratulate Ms Magdalena Stopa and wish her success in all her future endeavours!
